Ryder headed to the creek for his first location and not long after we arrived, he immediately went from a senior guy that went from getting his pictures taken to a guy doing what guys do at the creek...

We learned quickly that Tristan is the quiet guy! He did speak small talk with us during his session. But once we found out about his love for computers (YOU GUYS!! ...he built his own computer on his kitchen table! AND it just so happens that Matt built ours too!) the conversations...

We first had the pleasure of meeting Halley at the football field for banner pictures. She was late to arrive because she had a golf meet that same evening, but she wasn't worked up or upset. She was just happy to be a part of the evening. We saw her a few short days later...

Each senior we shoot, we feel like we make a connection and really create some great relationships in the time we spend with them. We become a family who cheers them on as...

Clayton's senior session was originally scheduled for mid-September and he really wanted downtown as one of his locations. However, as we looked ahead at the calendar his session was going to fall right into the busiest and biggest event of the year...

Cailin headed to the woods for her senior session and we timed the light wonderfully! Our first selection had the sun peeking through the trees and it highlighted the back of her hair beautifully for her images. The fall leaves are beginning to fall and we took some time to play with them too!

Zoey called us and said she would really like to have some autumn family pictures, but with so many little ones in attendance to try and have them cooperate for an entire session may be a bit much! She suggested a few quick poses but then had planned a few fall yard games for the entire family to play and wondered if we could just capture the evening.

She also made note that no one was going to know we were coming. It will all be a surprise!

Our senior sessions are taking off as autumn colors and the cooler weather sneak into the season and is one of the most popular times for photos. We started October with Kenzie and she began her time with us comfortable, relaxed, and ready to roll. She selected a cute brown jumper that tied in with the scenic lake backdrop that surrounded her and a black hat to complete the look for her first outfit.

Paisley had become the center of attention as we captured her growth every three months in the last year. Her entire family thought it was time to gather together and make some memories with all of them!

We ventured out to the farmhouse once again, but this time selected the pond on their property to use as their backdrop. The golden sun setting behind the family highlighted them and the water so brilliantly.

Danielle and her extended family inquired about a session since the autumn leaves were falling last year and planned to book when the spring was in full bloom. When spring had arrived, they reached out saying they had some exciting news and a new little one would be joining their large family in the summer and changed their booking date for what we imagined to be a lovely not too hot, but not too cold September day.

As the session day drew near, we had gorgeous sunny days the entire week, experiencing a bit of a drought, and were beginning to expect sunshine and little to no rain.

Matt and I have had the wonderful opportunity to be around high school-aged students most of our married lives as we served as youth leaders for nearly 15 years!

One thing we know is that their time is stretched here, there, and yonder! Now as senior photographers, we also know this is true! We had just hung out with 2 of these Seniors on Thursday night from the football and cheerleaders session. They arrived late because they had a golf match that same evening. But nevertheless, they made it and with smiles and a willingness to participate in the next event.

Wait...isn't it Friday Night Lights?

A senior mom had been in contact with us about this session and the senior football players and cheerleaders were anxiously awaiting to have their banner pictures with the brand new scoreboard. BUT it had yet to arrive.

When you receive an email saying we have a surprise and we need your help, what else do you say but "We are all in!"

Isaac asked Eleni to be his wife and she said yes!! They only let a few in on their secret and decided to photograph this special time in their lives and then share their session with their friends and family.

This sweet girl is so photogenic with the camera and always goes with the flow during her sessions! She just does her thing while we do ours!

This is our fourth time capturing Miss Paisley this year and it has been an absolute blessing to see her personality blossom. She also has the cutest little curls, beautiful blue eyes, and the most adorable little leg rolls.

School is back in session and the volleyball girls are hitting the court.

Over the years, we have had the opportunity to take the Varsity team and senior banner pictures and we were invited back again this season. These banners will proudly be hung by the coaches and parents for the fans to view!

Nolee brought her A-game to her session! LITERALLY! From her outfits to her shoes and to the basketball court.

Nolee headed uptown first where her outfits stood out against the beautiful architecture of Marshall. Then her love for basketball took us to the court.

If I were to tell you we had a sibling session this week, what comes to mind? Perhaps you thought we spent some time with a tiny newborn baby and their new big brother or sister. Maybe you imagined a little five-year-old girl holding the hand of her ten-year-old brother.

Celeste, her brother, Adam, and his family decided a month or so ago to travel back to their childhood home to visit their parents, Allan and Nancy. During this time, they decided to schedule a session with us, and of course, there is no way of telling what the weather would be like for their session day. As the day inched closer, the percentage of rain became larger and even more so at start time!

Untitled photo

You see, not long ago, I was pretty sure I was holding this new daddy as a newborn baby. Connor is my (Lindsay's) cousin!

Connor called a few weeks ago for us to come capture images of sweet Oliver and I suggested a lifestyle session with not only him but them too! Let us let you in on a secret! Babies are self-centered! Haha! Ok! Ok! So maybe this is common knowledge. But what baby wants, they demand it happen NOW! So a lifestyle session allows for us to come in and capture REAL LIFE!

Corey and Sarah had the most gorgeous day for their wedding. The sun was shining brilliantly but the clouds were painted so perfectly in the sky over the Landing at Fort Harrison in Terre Haute, Indiana. This venue has such a simple yet elegant arbor and stands so beautifully against the banks of the river. It made the perfect backdrop for Corey and Sarah's images.

They kept with tradition and did not see each other until ceremony time. (Except for the one time Sarah saw Corey across the parking lot as he greeted us at the venue and was showing us around!...oops!) Our favorite part of the ceremony is when Corey fell to his knees as he saw his bride for the first time walking down the aisle. Their relationship is so genuine and Sarah’s smile at Corey tells of her love for him.
