We traveled to Terre Haute to Idle Creek Golf Course for Skyler and Katie's engagement session which will also hold their wedding day events.   It is such a beautiful spot in Terre Haute and one we have never seen after living near the area for so long.

Skyler's dad owned a golf course while he was growing up and he helped his dad to mow. We find it so incredibly neat he and Katie have selected another course as their wedding site and to see their wedding dreams unfold at such a place.

Skyler and Katie brought along their dogs, Dorthy and Apollo, for the first half of their session.  As we all piled into our own golf carts (Matt, myself, and our gear in one,  Skyler and Apollo in another, and Katie, Dorothy, and Katie's mom (AKA the session dog handler...haha) in yet another) they told us to lead the way as we knew what to look for.   The trees were turning to radiant reds, oranges, and golds and as Matt and I were taking in the scenery and scouting locations, we noticed we had missed our turn to stay on the golf course route and began to take a tour of the neighborhood surrounding the golf course. I turned around to notice the individuals in the two golf carts that were once following us were going the correct way, waving and laughing at us.  I got to giggling so hard I began to cry and said to Matt, "Yes, let us lead the way!"

Once we caught up to the rest of the party, we were able to select some beautiful locations out of the neighborhood and on the golf course!  We were with Skyler and Katie until the sunset and the cool October evening turned us cold.  We had the best time with you both at your engagement session and we can not wait to do it all again on your wedding day!

Skyler and Katie's Engagement Story and Advice

Tell us your full proposal story. When did it happen? How were you feeling? Did you expect it?

We were spending the weekend with some friends of ours in Martinsville, IN for an event through the animal rescue that we help with. Later that day, we and our friends traveled to Brown County, IN. On the way there, there is an area to pull off of called “The lookout”. You could see for miles in all directions all the valleys surrounding us. We walked down the hill to take in the view. He hugged me and said in my ear “ You know I love you, right?”  I turned around to see Skyler on one knee with a ring in his hand. I don’t remember what he said because I’m pretty sure I blacked out for a few seconds. I shook my head, yes, and he said that is binding. When I came to I had the most beautiful ring on my finger. He had hired a photographer to capture all of it, and our friends had champagne. We then went to a nice dinner at Big Woods in Nashville, IN to celebrate.
